It was a great way to combine two things I really enjoy — photography and music. This was sort of a practice run — and i need more practice for sure. But I got about a 10% ratio of shots to good shots, and that’s not bad for a first try. I will improve.
This is a much more dynamic thing than you might think. Moving around to get the right angles of performers, changing focal length which affects aperature and speed, over-exposing daytime and under-exposing night (counter-intuitive if you ask me), live Cake!all adds up to constant thought and motion. A challenging thing to excel at, but a TON of fun. I could only make it to Sunday, and I can tell you that that was enough to get me hooked. I don’t really have time to do this very often, but I can [hopefully] see more of it in my future.
Now I just need to decide what zoom lens to buy. (Craig let me borrow one of his for this event.)
